Aqua Design Amano Co., Ltd. has under taken a project exhibiting gigantic size
Nature Aquarium layouts at SUMIDA AQUARIUM, a public aquarium, scheduled to open
on May 22, in TOKYO SKY TREE TOWN, next to TOKYO Sky Tree. This is the first
case the Nature Aquarium designed by Takashi Amano to be displayed at public
aquarium. TOKYO Sky Tree was constructed as a broadcasting and observation
tower. And it is expected to become Tokyo’s latest tourist attraction.
We expect many people will have a chance to see the largest Nature Aquarium
layout ever created.

Having basic know-how is the first step to enjoy Nature Aquarium for a long
period of time. We have made a series of leaflet containing basic know-how of
Nature Aquarium in order to deliver such knowledge especially for beginners.
The leaflet features various categories, substrate, liquid, lighting, CO2, and
filter, and they are available in PDF format. With these leaflets, you can make
beautiful layouts and maintain them in a long-term.

Q) “ADA view” video introduced the attaching of willow moss that has been
finely chopped with a knife to the stone. Will the willow moss really attach to
the stone by this method?

ADA view: A 180cm aquarium tank with Unzan stone and Wabi-kusa

A) The layout introduced in the “ADA view” uses Unzan Stone which has been
newly released recently. This volcanic stone has a rough surface and holds
fine pieces of willow moss easily. Although not all the willow moss pieces will
be attached to stone by the method introduced in our magazine, some of them will
naturally stay on the stone and start growing. Please take note that this way of
attaching willow moss cannot be used for stones with a smooth surface. This is
a method of attaching willow moss making use of the features of Unzan Stone.
